What do you think, shall we get rid of the connection rating and points leaderboard?

Points? Shouldn't it be pixels? That way, the better compositor you are, the higher definition you get to be... okay, okay... but having points DOES not make you a better composter. (Check it out: the ones at the bottom always compost better.) In the meantime, we can all have fun with it.

I just started and it's fun, keeps you updated on how active you are on the site. Thats a good thing.

What? I'm only at #17, and Hugh is leading?

Of course you should get rid of it. It's clearly malfunctioning.

As long as people don't start thinking that how many points they have makes a difference to their comping ability, I think it comes across as light-hearted enough. The only thing I was uncomfortable about was the points affecting what people could so on the site...

Of course you like it Hugh you're at the top :)
We just had a complaint that it was unprofessional. Which is probably a compliment thinking about it now.

Why would *I* want the leader board taken away? ;-) I agree with Harp on this - it's a nice little extra..

This is like a cool little meta game... kinda like the points system. If people don't care, why would it matter, but I think for the people that pay attention to it, it's kind of a fun little meta game. IMO, it makes your site stand out from the other social networking sites like LinkedIn. I think these things might encourage participation for some, but I'm sure you also don't want random posts about nothing. You will probably need to refine the system, but overall, seems kinda cool.
