Shall we get rid of the points system altogether?

New members now have to earn points and then upgrade to gain full access to the site. This was to prevent spammers and fake profiles. What do you think? Should we stop being so paranoid and get rid of the points system altogether?

I think you should be awarded daily points to just for logging kinda like Facebooks App, I think points encourge activity.

I concur with the previous concurrences. The night...er...site is young. Still a bit too early to start lopping off features/behaviors/etc.

I agree, the point system is nice since it rewards active members of the community.

Theres no problem with being a little paranoid and it'll come in handy later on, also when i stared up i already had enough points to upgrade my account, so theres no problems with the point system that i can see.

I've not paid too much attention to it yet, but any way to make the site more "sticky" and to incentivize participation (wow - syllables!) is good. Keep it, and build on it, make it more of a game.

i don't think that it should go entirely, but I'm not so keen on the idea of people not being able to do some things until they've got enough points. It's a nice incentive, though.

Personally, I like the points system... if we are talking about what I think we are talking about. It gives incentives to participate and is kinda fun like Achievements on 360. That's just my opinion.
